Head flattened. No plumose tentacle above eye. Axillary pore present behind pectoral fin. No cirri between eyes. Barbels around mouth branched. Pectoral glands absent.

Color

Body light brown, densely covered in dark blotches forming a reticulated pattern on the head and upper body. Belly pale with brown mottling.

Size

Maximum size to 236mm TL.

Habitat

Benthic on coral reefs.

Range

Western Caribbean: known only from the Yucatan Peninsula (Progreso Reef)
