Color
Body pale except for a line of melanophores on the dorsal midline and two dark streaks on the ventrum. A dark spot is conspicuous in front of the eye.

Maximum size to 148mm SL.
Habitat
Epipelagic to mesopelagic from 0-200m.

Range
Tropical and subtropical Atlantic, from the Gulf Stream region to off northeastern South America, the Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean Sea.
