Color
Body brilliant cobalt blue to purplish-blue, becoming paler blue on the belly. Snout with a black stripe running to front of eye bordered with electric blue stripes above and below. A dark spot on the pectoral axil. Spiny dorsal fin almost all blue; occasionally with pale yellow membranes towards the distal end. Soft dorsal fin and anal fin blue basally with bright yellow on the distal half. Pelvic fin and pectoral fin pale yellow. Caudal fin and extreme end of caudal peduncle bright yellow. Juveniles similar in color.
