Color
Body uniformly silvery, rarely with faint spotting following scale rows. Dorsal and caudal fins dusky. Anal, pelvic, and pectoral fins yellowish.
Size
Maximum size to 40cm TL.
Habitat
Coastal waters (1-110m) and estuaries over soft bottoms.
Range
Virginia to the Bay of Campeche, Mexico (continental coasts only).
