Color

Body silvery-gray, grading to pale silvery on the belly. Lines of black spots follow scale rows. Fins blackish. Spiny dorsal fin with black margin. Inside of opercular flap black.

Size

Maximum size to 60cm TL.

Habitat

Coastal waters (1-60m) over soft bottoms.

Range

Columbia to N. Brazil (continental coasts only).
